ECAM

End Customer Account Model (ECAM)

As outlined in playgroundtech.io/cmp, Playground Tech is supporting the ECAM Model to help customers set up a multi-account AWS Organization with proper guardrails and data isolations in place.

What is the End Customer Account Model (ECAM)?

The End Customer Account Model (ECAM) is a resale model under the AWS Solution Provider Program that allows customers to contract directly with AWS while still receiving the benefits of working with an AWS Solution Provider. Under this model, the end customer's agreement governs all access to, and use of, AWS services, except for fees, payment, pricing, and tax terms, which are superseded by the terms set forth in the solution provider's agreement with the end customer.

How does ECAM work?

In the ECAM model, the solution provider sets up a multi-account AWS organization with proper guardrails and data isolations in place. The management (payer) account is set up with the solution provider's email domain, but all member (linked) accounts should have the end customer's email domain. The solution provider in this model is set up as the payer (i.e., they own the management account in the consolidated billing organization) so they can receive the bill, but all AWS services are resold through the accounts owned by the end customer.

Access to End Customer Accounts

Under no circumstances is the solution provider allowed to enter the end customer's account. The solution provider is only allowed to make changes in the management account (payer account) to improve the solution.
